What dates are you operating this year?

We are available for bookings from December 1st 2024 to April 15th 2025.

How do I book a lesson?
You can book a lesson through our online booking system, via email or over the phone.
Do I need to book my lessons in advance?

It is recommended that you book your lessons in advance to ensure we can accommodate the dates and durations you desire. Depending on availability, we will endeavor to accommodate same day bookings.

What methods of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards via our online booking system, bank transfer and cash.

Why do you only offer private lessons?

Private lessons offer personalized instruction to help you gain, develop and master the necessary skills to make the most of your time on holiday. Either one on one or with friends/family.

Are your instructors qualified?

Yes! All of our instructors are highly certified instructors, guides and trainers.

What languages do the instructors speak?

Our instructors are all native English speakers.

Can my instructor pick me up from my accommodation?

If you have booked our No Limits product or have added transportation to your lesson, yes, your instructor will pick you up from your accommodation prior to the start of your lesson. If you have booked one of our Meet On Snow lessons, your instructor will meet you at your designated meeting point.

How do I know what my level is?

At Limitless we use the following categories to define our different levels:

First Time: I have never tried skiing/snowboarding before.
Beginner: Little to no previous experience. I am just starting out or need a refresher. I have learned how to put on my equipment and have some experience on very gentle slopes.
Beginner/Intermediate: Some previous experience. I feel comfortable on green level slopes. I can control my speed and turns on green level slopes.
Intermediate: Previous experience. I feel comfortable on red level slopes. I can control my speed and turns on red level slopes.
Intermediate/Advanced: Confident on varied terrain, including steeper slopes and black runs.
Advanced: Highly skilled, comfortable on challenging terrain including double black diamond runs and off-piste.

Is Niseko a good place to learn how to ski or snowboard?

Niseko is a wonderful place to learn how to ski or snowboard. There are areas at each resort that offer terrain that is suited to first time or beginner riders. With gradual slope progression, you will be able to learn and build your skills and confidence to progress during your lesson.

Do I need travel insurance?

Yes, Limitless recommends purchasing travel insurance that includes snow travel when you pay your deposit. This way you may be covered for accidents that prevent you from traveling, as well as for your holiday.

Lessons

How many people can be in a lesson?

Our lessons accommodate between 1 and 4 participants. We do offer the option to add participants for an additional cost.

My friend and I are of different abilities, can we be in the same lesson?
Although it is possible, we recommend that all participants are of similar abilities for your lesson. This ensures the most enjoyment and improvements for all.
Can we have Skiers and Snowboarders in the same lesson?

To ensure you receive the best instruction, we do not teach skiing and snowboarding together.

What age can my children start taking lessons?

It is possible for children to start learning snowsports by the age of 2. Due to their physical strength and energy levels however, it is recommended that they start at the age of 5.

Can I take a private lesson with my child?

Yes! It is certainly possible to take a family lesson all together. Please keep in mind that we will progress at a rate that is suitable for all members of your family to ensure your safety and enjoyment during your lesson.

Can I request a specific instructor?

Yes.

Where do I meet my instructor on the day of the lesson?

Within Niseko United, there are several meeting locations. We will send you detailed instructions prior to the start of your first lesson on where to meet your instructor.

Do I need to buy a lift pass? 

Yes, lift tickets are not included in the cost of the lesson. The type of lift ticket you purchasewill depend on your goals and ability level.

Can I rent equipment when I get to Niseko?

Yes! There are several rental companies within Niseko where you are able to rent yoursnowsports equipment from. We recommend reserving your equipment in advance to ensurethere is availability during your holiday. Please contact us for our top recommendations.

How will I know who my instructor is?

We will send you an email with detailed information about how to identify your instructor for your lessons. We will also connect you directly with them via WhatsApp on the date of your first lesson for seamless communication.

What if I am running late for my lesson?

Please let our office team know as soon as possible if you are running late by calling +81(80) 5046 2808. Alternatively, you can send us an email or text message through WhatsApp.

What equipment will I need?

Each participant must have ski/snowboard boots as well as skis or a snowboard. We stronglyrecommend that each participant uses a helmet, goggles and gloves. It is common for protectiveequipment such as wrist guards, knee pads and butt pads to be worn when learning tosnowboard.

Do I need poles?

For adults we recommend poles. For children who are beginning it is not recommended touse poles until reaching an intermediate level.

What clothes should I wear?

For your base layer, we recommend wearing woollen or breathable synthetic thermals and socks that end just below your knee. For your mid layer, we suggest wearing a fleece and/or a thin puffer jacket. For outerwear we suggest wearing waterproof snow pants and a jacket. For additional accessories we recommend insulated waterproof gloves or mittens, a face mask or neck gaiter and goggles.

What happens if the lifts are closed?

If there is a full mountain closure and zero lifts are running due to weather or mechanical issues that are beyond Limitless’ control, we will strive to offer you an alternative arrangements soon as possible. If no mutually acceptable alternative is possible, there will be no cancellation fees associated with rescheduling your lesson. Please refer to our terms and conditions for further information.

Can I take a break during my lesson?

Yes! Your lesson is your time and you may take as many breaks as you wish.

Is lunch included in the full day lesson?

The cost of lunch is not included in the cost of your full day lesson. There is an hour dedicated to a lunch break during your full day lesson which you can take when you desire.

Guiding

What equipment will I need?

If you have booked a Gate Guiding product, you will need skis/snowboard, poles and helmet.You will also need an avalanche pack (backpack, avalanche beacon, shovel and probe) to enter the gated area.

If you have booked a Backcountry Guiding product, you will need touring ski boots, a split board/touring skis with appropriate skins, collapsible poles, helmet and avalanche equipment (backpack, avalanche beacon, shovel and probe).

What should I wear?
For your base layer, we recommend wearing woollen or breathable synthetic thermals andsocks that end just below your knee. For your mid layer, we suggest wearing a fleece and/or athin puffer jacket. For outerwear we suggest wearing waterproof snow pants and a jacket. Foradditional accessories we recommend insulated waterproof gloves or mittens, a face mask orneck gaiter, goggles and a warm hat or beanie.
Do I need to bring snacks?

For our Gate Guiding product, it is not necessary to bring snacks as we will stop for a lunch break when you are hungry, however if you prefer to bring snacks you are welcome to keepthem in your backpack! For our Backcountry Guiding product, we recommend bringing snacksas you will be very far away from places to get food once you have left the Niseko area.

Is lunch included?

The cost of lunch is not included in our products. There is an hour break for lunch which you may take at any time you wish. Please note that for our Backcountry Guiding product, you will need to bring your own lunch.

Do you provide avalanche equipment?

We do have avalanche equipment available for rent. You can add it to your guiding productwhen making an online reservation.

Can I rent touring equipment in Niseko?

Yes! There are several rental operations that hire backcountry touring equipment in Niseko.We recommend booking your rentals in advance to ensure they have availability during your holiday.

Can I use my own equipment?

Yes! If you have your own equipment that is suitable for your tour, please bring it.

What if the weather or avalanche conditions are not good?

Your guide will assess the weather conditions and monitor the avalanche forecasts to make adecision based on safety. Your guide may propose an alternative route or adjust your itinerary to minimize exposure to harsh weather conditions or avoid high-risk areas.

Is going off-piste dangerous?

While alpine sport does involve risks, our seasoned Canadian Avalanche Association (CAA)accredited guides expertly manage safety concerns, unlocking access to breathtaking terrain tailored to your abilities.

What if I am injured?

Venturing into the backcountry means leaving the safety net of resort services behind.Without ski patrol present and potentially limited communication options, it is crucial to prioritize risk management. Our expert guides are highly trained in extensive first aid and emergency response. They are dedicated to assessing your skiing/riding abilities to ensure suitable terrains election and are constantly monitoring risk factors to minimize injury potential.

Who is liable for injury in the backcountry?

At Limitless, your safety is our top priority. However, skiing and snowboarding inherentlyinvolve risks, including injury or death. By participating in our tours you acknowledge these risks and voluntarily assume responsibility for your own safety. You release Limitless Niseko, itsemployees and agents from any liability for injuries, damages or fatalities. You understand that you participate in skiing/snowboarding of your own free will, not under the direction of Limitless and accept full responsibility for any harm or damage caused to yourself or others.
